Written in the Stars

It is said that God has a plan for all of us, that He knows from birth what we are destined to do/be from the very beginning.  It is also said that we, as humans, exercise the use of free will. Now bearing both of those thoughts in mind consider this:

What if God has created multiple people who have had the potential to discover the cure for    cancer or something just as significant, however, with the option we have of free will those selected     people have fallen off the beaten path. Perhaps these individuals exercised their use of free will and took that extra drink at a reckless party or were to scared to move forward, thus hindering their true potential and meaning in life. In return altering Gods original plan forcing him to pass on the epic potential he has granted to so many others in hopes that someone will exercise their free will accordingly. After all God doesn't just give us things like strength and patience but rather he provides us with opportunities to practice being patient and strong.  So he doesn't give us knowledge he provides us with the opportunity to strengthen and broaden ourselves so that the knowledge we gather  is ours that we used our free will to retain.

Perhaps when God created the universe and placed the stars in the sky he lit them with our stories.  Maybe when we wish upon a star we are actually wishing upon our stories making wishes that God will grant in his own timing and way.  Provided we exercise our free will by using the opportunities that he gives us to live up to our true potential. If the above is true then it's also concievable that shooting stars are falling stories and when we wish on them we are actually wishing that it's not our story that it falling.  As we all know stars burn out but maybe they only burn out when a legacy or story is complete. On Earth we still see the star as being lit because even though that story has been completed that person continues to live on inside of us.  Their legacy lives on. Maybe it really is written in the stars.
